Browser 可以打開 Google Map (maps.google.com) 但不能移動

因為沒有實體相機, 所以 Camera 程式會顯示一個移動的方格

剛剛開始接觸 Android 的我對這個系統還是非常陌生.

今天看到有關 Android Live CD 的新聞便馬上下載一份, 並在 VMWare 上試試看. 整個過程都很順利, 只是新增了一個 Virtual Machine, 選擇 Linux 2.6 kernel, 256MB RAM, Bridge Network 便可.

剛開始時遇到最大的難題是沒有硬體按鈕, 所以不知到如何按 menu, back, home 等功能, 最後在 Android Live CD Wiki page 中看到

Arrows(movement), Enter(confirm), Escape key(back), Alt + F1(console),Alt + F7(GUI)

那 menu 及 home key 呢?

原來 menu key 是 MS 104 keyboard 上的 Meun key

快速切換螢幕解像度

經常在筆電螢幕, 桌面 LCD 及 Project 間切換, 螢幕解像度經常會出錯, 例如在使用 Projector 時為 800x600, 在Presentation 過後把VGA線移除後系統不會自動更新為筆電螢幕的解像度 1024x768, 要手動在控制台 > 螢幕 > 1024x768.

如要快速切換螢幕解像度, 可以用一個名為 SwitchDisplay V0.12

執行後, 只要加入常用的解像度, 以後只要用 Ctrl+Shift+S 便可以很方便在幾個解像度之間切換.

My MSN can't login and stuck in the "logging in" screen. It told me that my contact list was not available. I've tried many solution on internet, but the problem still hasnt' been fixed.

Any other solution i can try?

Solution:
The problem is caused by the msn login cache. Just remove all files from the directory below. If the following files are reported being used and can't be deleted, reboot windows and remove those files before starting MSN live messenger. My problem was fixed after doing this.

I don’t know since when I have this problem. when I accessed to the podcast directory, it got an error like this

“Your request could not be completed.
The item you’ve requested is not currently available in the Hong Kong Store.”

Somebody suggested changing the country of the itune account. Somebody suggested creating a new itune account for United State.

In fact that you can change the itune store country setting to solve this problem without changing the account info.

1. go to itune store home page (click the home button)
2. scroll down to the bottom of the home page
3. change the country of the itune store to United State
4. go to podcast page and click Podcast Directory
5. done, now you can browse and search the podcast directory.

Cisco VPN Client Error 1720

Just a got a couple installation error when installing the Cisco VPN Client. The error code was Error 1720

The reason for that was some services were disabled for performance and i didn’t realized that it was needed by the Cisco VPN Client.

After the service was re-enabled, everything worked fine.

VMWare workstation 安裝時間大約是10 分鐘, 過程中還會問好幾個問題. 如果安裝多台腦電腦或經常會 reinstall 電腦的人來說, unattended install 是最好的方法.

VMWare 官方的文件中也要提到 slient install 的方法, 我在這裏做一個簡單的示範, 如果做 unattended windows install 的話, 最好把 VMWare 方到最後, 因為完成安裝以後, 系統會自動重新起動.

REMOVE 是要移除的功能如 DHCP 及NAT, 沒有特別需要就不用加入安裝指令了
PROPERTY 是一些安裝時的選項, 例如自動輸入 Serial Number

從官方網頁上下載了安裝檔 VMware-workstation-6.5.1-126130.exe
InstallTmpPath 為 c:\vm.install.tmp
CDKey 為 AAAAA-BBBBB-CCCCC-DDDDD-EEEEE (當然這個不是真的, 例子而已)

安裝 Cisco SDM v2.5 及解決 JAVA Error 問題

很多人都會在安裝 SDM 時遇到問題. 尤其是JAVA出現以下 Error

用 Excel 計算產品保用期

因為每年的日子不一定都是 365 日, 每月也不一定是30天, 所以一直以來用 Excel 計算日期都會遇到不少困難. 其實用Excel 計算日期並不是太難, 只要找到相關的 Formula 便可.

以下是一個例子用來計算產品的保用期及保用到期日, 我們要用到 edate 及 datedif 兩個 forumula.

edate 是計算輸入日期加上月份後的日子, 例如 1/1/2008 加 3 個月便是 1/4/2008

datedif 是計算兩個日期之份的年月日分別, 例如 1/1/2008 及 2/4/2008 便是相差 0 年, 3個月及 1 日

成功為 AAO 升級為 802.11n 並在OSX 中支援 Wifi

AAO 的 Wifi Driver 一直有不 Stable 的問題, 時常會減速之不能接的情況. 此外Mac OSX 不支援 AAO 的 Atheros AR5007EG 802.11b/g card. 在網上看到只能以更換 Mini PCI Wifi Card 的方法令 OSX 上支援 Wifi.

最後到 eBay 上買了 BroadCom BCM94321MC 802.11n Mini PCI Card 因為該卡便是 MacBook Pro 中便用的 Wifi 卡, 所以在 OSX 中能原生支援該卡, 不用安裝 Driver.

我參考網上為 AAO 換RAM的方法把機拆開, 然後把機內的 Atheros 改為BroadCom 802.11n 卡. 完成後重新開機便能夠在 OSX 中看到AirPort.

在eBay 買回來的 BroadCom BCM94321MC 802.11n Mini PCI Card HK$250

包括 CD, MiniPCI Card

AAO 上的無線一直都不能用, 真的令我很頭痛. 剛好發現手上有一支 PCI 的 GW-US54Mini2G USB Wifi, 所以就到 PCI 的網頁看看.

IIS 6.0 的 PASSIVE Mode FTP

今天嘗試在 IIS6 上建立 FTP Server, 到了設定 PASV FTP時遇到不少問題。在此把一些設定時要注意的地方記下來

首先在IIS6中找不到Passive FTP的設定, 因為IIS6預設已把 Passive FTP啟動並用了 TCP 1024-5000, 所以只要把這段的TCP Port 在Router上做Forwarding使可

"By default, the FTP server allocates ports for passive-mode connections from the WinSock dynamic range, 1024 to 5000. If the server itself is behind a firewall, the 1024 to 5000 port range must be open for incoming connections at the firewall." more

另外在ClientSide方面, 如果是用了IE來作 FTP Client 的話, 便要在設定中選擇 Passive Mode FTP 及取消 FTP Folder View 功能

重新同步 SRT 字幕檔

因為開始收集 HD Video 的關係, 所以希望所有的 Video 都有中英字幕, 但是很多時後找回來的 Video 只有影片但沒有字幕, 即使有也只是英文字幕, 沒有中文的。

如果到網上尋找到的中文字幕很多時候會跟英文字幕及影片不同步, 所以今次找來一個方法可以重新把不同語言的影片字幕同步。

先到字幕搜尋器找出影片的字幕, 一般同片種的字幕多數也沒有同步問題, 所以我的 HD Bluray 電影最好是找到如 Bluray 720p 或 1080p 的字幕, 如果是Bluray 片種但找回來是 DVD 字幕, 那就有可能出會同步問題。先找英語再找其他語言, 因為英語的字幕比較易找, 同步的問題也比較少。

找到後把字幕檔名改為跟影片一樣, 如 movie.eng.srt (結尾為 <語言>.srt)
如果英言版沒有同步問題的話別可以找中文字幕來試試。

如中文字幕出現同步問題, 那便要下載及安裝 Vobsub. 安裝完成後, 便可以以 Right Click 來打開字幕檔以作編輯。

打開時要選擇適當的 FPS, 你可以在 Media Player Classic 的 Properties 中找出FPS 值.

打開後便可以與英文版作比對, 在中文語言的那邊找出英文中的同一段說話並輸入同一樣的時間 (假設英文的同步是正確的) 儲藏存後便完成了。

Cisco Router 啟動時出現 %Error opening tftp://255.255.255.255/network-confg (Timed out)

很多人在配置 Router 時都偶見過 %Error opening tftp://255.255.255.255/network-confg (Timed out) 的問題. 原因出於 IOS 在啟動時會嘗試用 TFTP 從網路上要求 config file, 所以會發出 TFTP://255.255.255.255 廣播來連接 TFTP Server.

1. 待命鍵不見了.

即使安裝了最新的 Intel Chipset Utilites 也不能使用待命功能, 原因是因為待命期間會涉及 Display Card, 所以一安要安裝 Intel 的 945GM Graphic Driver, 完成安裝得, 重新啟動電腦使可以按到 "持命" 的功能。

2. Audio 及 Modem Driver

X60s 上安裝 Audio 及 Modem 都需要系統上備有 Microsoft (UAA) High Definition audio bus driver, 但Windows XP SP2 郤是沒有這個 Driver 的, 所以要在 IBM 網站下載 Audio Driver 時一拼下載 UAA 或者到 Microsoft.com http://support.microsoft.com/kb/888111 以 Email 申請下載 UAA Driver (Microsoft 沒有在網頁上提供直接下載). Audio Driver, Modem Driver 及 UAA 都下載回來後, 先安裝 UAA (小心語言版本要對), 先新啟動 Windows, 然後安裝 Audio Driver.

EeeCTL 降頻至 500Mhz 更省電

之前介紹過 EeeCTL 除了超頻以外, 還可以設定至更低的頻率以逹省電目的.

在 EeeCTL 的錄目中有一個 eeectl.ini 的設定檔, 只要打開該檔並找出 Speed.Profile 一行, 把它改為

Speed.Profiles = 55,99,0,Suspend; 55,99,0,Slow(500Mhz); 60,99; 65,99; 70,99,0,Stock(633Mhz); 75,100; 80,100; 85,100; 90,100,1,Medium(833Mhz); 95,100; 100,100,1,Full(900Mhz);

用 MobileMeter 即時監察 EeePC 的 CPU 頻率

剛用了EeeCTL 改動了 CPU 速度, 可是用後還是顯示 633 Mhz 的頻率. 不知道是 Windows 的問題還是 EeeCTL 不能把頻率提升, 所以在網上找了一個名為 MobileMeter 的東西, 這程式可以實時顯示 CPU 的頻率.

下圖便成功顯示用了EeeCTL 從 900Mhz 降頻至 633 Mhz, 之後再使用 EeeCTL把率改回 900Mhz 的過程.

EeePC 的 CPU 是 Celeron M 900 Mhz 但只用上 600 Mhz, 原因是 Asus 把外頻鎖定為 70Mhz, 所以只能走至 600Mhz.

現在只要在WinXP執行EeeCTL程式, 便可以馬上跑 900Mhz 全速, 連改 BIOS 這樣高風險的動作也不用了.

eeepc 上用 Windows Live Messenger 太擠擁吧！

因為 eeepc 的 LCD 解像度只有 800x480, 所以當開了 Live Messenger 後, 上部份的圖像加上下部份的廣告, 餘下來的 Contact List 空間只有 4-5行, 使用起來太不方便了.

為了可以使 Live Messenger 適合在 800x480 的桌面使用, 就要得把它作一些改動了. 我所做用的 Live Messenger 版本為 2008 Build 8.5.1302.1018.

先到 http://mess.be 找出 Mess Patch 8.5.1302 (直接連到下載頁), 下載回來及安裝

選擇修正 Messenger 及下一步

選擇移除廣告及Live Messenger 標題有關的選項以及自已希望加減的功能.

在這裏必需選擇 "移除挖苦表情符號以修正頭像圖片顯示框", 否則廣告便不會被移除.

完成後按下一步及繼續其他設定頁. 修正後, MSN Live Messenger 的連絡人清單能夠顯示更多的連絡人資料.

Windows Live Writer Portable 版本

對於經常要更新Blog 的人來講, 如果要在朋友的電腦上安裝 Live Writer 並加入自己所有的 Blog 帳號, 用完之後又要把帳號清除實在太麻煩了.

以 subst 指令來建立虛擬磁碟路徑

你可用 subst 指令來建立一個虛擬磁碟路徑並把路徑連到一個指定個資料夾. 例如以 Z: 來代表 C:\folder_abc.

在 dos prompt 中輸入 subst z: c:\folder_abc

如要刪除虛擬磁碟路徑, 可以在指令加入 /D 便何. 例如 subst z: /D

如何建立 Bootable 的 USB Flash 或 Memeory Card 呢?

要建立 Bootable Media 其實並不難, 只要有一片Win98 的開機片 (CD, Floppy 或 Virtual Floppy) 並以 HP 的 USB Disk Storage Format Tool 便可.

要下載 Win98 Boot Disk, 可以到 bootdisk.com 下載開機片建立程式, 把檔案寫入一片新的3.5"磁片. 如果沒有3.5"磁片或磁碟機的話, 可以在網下載一個名為Virtual Floppy 的程式, 該程式可以在系統建立一個Virtual Floppy Drive, 建立以後便可把開機檔寫入剛建位的 Virtual Floppy Drive. 再方便一點的可以直接下載準備好似開機檔來直接建立 Bootable Flash.

以下便以 Virtual Floppy + 從 bootdisk.com 下載回來的 Win98SE 開機片, 最後以 HP USB Storage Format Tool 把一支 Imation 的 2G USB Flash 格式化為開機片.

步驟1. 下載開機片檔

先到 http://bootdisk.com 下載 Windows98 SE OEM 開機片檔. 檔名為 boot98se.exe (按此直接下載 boot98se.exe)

步驟1. 下載及安裝 Virtual Floppy Drive

到http://chitchat.at.infoseek.co.jp/vmware/vfd.html 下載 Virtual Floppy Drive 2.1 (按此直接下載 vfd21-080206.zip)

下載後解壓並執行 vfdwin.exe

在 [Driver] 頁中按下 Browse 開啟 vfd.sys

按 Install 及 Start 鍵

在 [Drive0] 頁按 Change 設定 Driver Letter, 在此選擇 A:

然後按 Open/Create

直接按 Create 來建立一片空白磁片

完成後, 我的電腦便會出現新建的 A:軟碟機, 最後按Format 來格式化新建的磁片

步驟3. 建立開機片

完成 Virtual Floppy Drive 的建立後, 便可以直接把下載回來的 Win98SE Boot Disk 安裝到 A: 中.

打開 boot98se.exe, 按確定.

完成後打開 A: 便會看見一大埋Win98SE開機片中包含的檔案

步驟4. 下載及安裝 HP USB Storage Format Tool

可到這裏下載 http://files.extremeoverclocking.com/file.php?f=197. 下載回來後安裝便可.

步驟5. 建立 Bootable USB Flash

所有準備功夫都完成後, 現在到了最後也是最重要的一步. 先插入 USB Flash. 我的是一支 2GB Imation USB Flash Drive.

執行 HP USB Storage Format Tool. 在 [DEVICE] 中選擇剛插入的 2G Imation USB Flash. [File system] 為 Flash. [Volumn lable] 為 USB_BOOT.

選擇 Create a BOS startup disk 並於 using DOS system files located at 選擇 A: 3.5軟碟機. 最後按 Start 開始格式化.

完成.

為何有些 Switch 可以無需理會 Straight/Cross Over Cable?

有部份新款的 Switch 支援一重名為 Auto MDI/MDI-X 的功能, 該功能會自動分辨接線是 Straight Through Cable 還是 Cross Over Cable, 如果把電腦以 Cross Over Cable 接到 Switch, Auto MDI/MDI-X 功能便會自動把接線改為 Straight Through 以達到 TX-RX 的接法.

在電腦的 Ethernet LAN Card 接線標準為 MDI (Media Dependent Interface), 而 Hubs/Switch 的接線標準為 MDIX (Media Dependent Interface with Crossover). 如果同樣的 Port 相接便 (例如: MDI-MDI)要便用 Crossover Cable), 相返兩個不同的 Port 相接 (例如: MDI-MDIX) 便會使用 Straight Through Cable 因為其中一個 Port (MDIX) 已經內建了 Crossover 線路.

SSH login 時輸入username 後等很久才出現Password Prompt

問題發生於 SSH login 時, 當輸入了 username 後要等大約 5-10 秒才出現Password Prompt. 正常情況是不用等待便馬上出現 Password Prompt.

後來發現是因為sshd 中的 DNS lookup 導致 Delay. 只是在 sshd_config 中加入 UseDNS no 問題便可解決. 完成後要把 sshd 重新啟動.

安裝virtualbox時出現libqt3-mt錯誤問題

我所使用的系統是 Ubuntu 7.10 Gutsy

當安裝virtualbox時出現 libqt3-mt_3.3.8really3.3.7 dependency 問題, 用了 apt-get -f install, apt-get upgrade 及 apt-get update 也試過了, 也沒有把問題解決

試著安照 Ubuntu Wiki 的方法以 sudo apt-get install libxalan110 libqt3-mt 也不成功. 在Google 發現很多人也遇到同樣問題, 但都找不到解決方法。

問題出於libqt3-mt_3.3.8really3.3.7 沒有被正常安裝, 要解這個問題便需要手動下載該套件的 deb 檔並手動安裝．安裝時需依照次序, 先安裝 libaudio2, 再安裝 libqt3-mt.

首先到ubuntu package 網站, 找出以下 package

libaudio2

libaudio2_1.9-2_i386.deb (下載)

libqt3-mt

libqt3-mt_3.3.8really3.3.7-0ubuntu11_i386.deb (下載)

手動以dkpg 安裝剛下載回來的套件

啟用GNOME內建VNC

首先要啟用GNOME中內建的VNC 功能. 於 System > 偏好設定 > 遠端桌面, 選取

Allow other users to view your desktop
Allow other users to control your desktop
Require the user to enter this password
並輸入一個密碼

完成後, 便可以使用Windows 的 VNC viwer 連線到 ubuntu 的 VNC server 試試看並使用設定中的密碼登入。

這篇文章是參考 ubuntu help 中的 TightVNC 教學寫成

在ubuntu中使用VNC server 並不是什麼新鮮的事, 但要連到VNC server, 前提是必須使用者預前登入 X Windows, 如果沒有預先登入, VNC Viewer 便不能連線到 Server. 這篇教學目的便是使 VNC Viewer 能連線到沒有預先係的 X 桌面中。

安裝TightVNC

在 console 中輸入 apt-get install tightvncserver 來安裝, 如安裝過程發現找不到 tightvnc 套件, 可參考我的一篇文章 "在 ubuntu 7.10 中找不到 TightVNC 安裝套件"

完成安裝後, 在 console 中執行 vncserver :1

user@server:~$ vncserver :1

New 'X' desktop is server:1

Starting applications specified in /home/user/.vnc/xstartup
Log file is /home/user/.vnc/server:1.log

user@server:~$

之後便可以便用Windows 的 VNC Viewer 連到 Server:1.

上圖中的 192.168.1.99:1 便是Server 啟用 VNC Server 時輸入的 :1 Port. 亦即是 TCP port 5901.

在 ubuntu 7.10 中找不到 TightVNC 安裝套件

在網上看到可以在 ubuntu 中安裝 tightvncserver 來開啟多個 vnc remote session, 所以試試安裝. 在ubuntu 中的網站只銪提到用 apt-get來安裝, 但輸入指令後卻找不到套件. 令我花了不少時間在網上尋找這個問題的來源

到 google 上再找 ubuntu gusty 中 tightvncserver 的套件資料, 發現果然在ubuntu 7.10 Gusty 裏是有 tightvnc 套件的, 只是不知道為什麼安裝時卻找不到.

細心一看之下, 看到在套件名稱旁邊有 universe 一字並以紅色來強調

原來在 ubuntu gusty 中的 /etc/apt/source.list 裏面, universe 的套件清單預設是被停用的, 要重新啟用清單, 只要把 # 號刪除, 儲存後再以 apt-get update 來更新套件資料便可

Excel 關閉後餘下空白頁面及不能在Taskbar/TitleBar正確顯示檔名

問題發生於Excel開始多個文件時, 在Taskbar中顯示出 "Microsoft Excel - xxx". 因為每個開啟的文件都會顯示 "Microsoft Excel" 字樣, 導至檔名不能清楚顯示。

發現問題位於XLS檔案頪型設定出錯, 預設XLS開啟指令為
"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office10\EXCEL.EXE" /e

出現問題的開啟指令為
"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office10\EXCEL.EXE" /e "%1"

只要指開啟指令還完問題別可解決

我的電腦 > 工具 > 資料夾選項 > 檔案類型
找出 XLS 檔案類型, 按進階
選手開啟舊檔 (O), 再按編輯
在用來執行動作的應月程式中輸入 "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office10\EXCEL.EXE" /e
使用 DDE
DDE 訊息為 [open("%1")]
確定並離開

完成後開啟多個 Excel 時, taskbar 便會正常顯示檔名, 關閉後空白頁面問題也一拼解決了.

發現 Windows XP 不能連上 WPA2 WiFi Network

當連到 WPA2 WiFi Network 時出現不能連線, 最後發現 Windows XP 沒有支援 WPA2, 選單中只有 WPA 可選. 在手動設定中也只有 WPA 及 WPA/PSK 選項.

如要Windows XP 支援 WPA2, 只要到 Microsoft 網站下載及安裝 Hotfix KB893357. 安裝完成後, 重新啟動電腦, 到無線網絡尋找 WiFi 網絡便會看見 WPA2 支援. 在手動設定中也要發 WPA2 及 WPA2/PSK 選項.
